We attended the round-table discussion organised by El Economista
«Integrated planning for people and goods is essential for urban mobility in cities. A comprehensive plan that optimises urban flows, combined with a network of infrastructure and logistics microhubs that bring services closer to people and reduce the need for travel. This approach, which takes London and Paris as its benchmarks, would improve the system’s efficiency, facilitating, for example, night-time distribution or the separation of goods and passenger flows.”
This was stated by Julián Villena, Director of Asset Management at MERLIN, at the round table “The challenge of new urban mobility: Madrid’s sustainable future”, organised by elEconomista.
Also participating in the panel were Francisco Iglesias Campos, CEO of Alsa; Manuel Molins, CEO of CTT Express Paquetería Urgente; Javier Gonzalez, partner at Kearney; Salvador Urquía Grande, CEO of Serveo; and Rafael Salas, Director of Transport, Operations, Mobility and Logistics at Urbaser, who all agreed on the value of a mobility model for the city of Madrid that promotes sustainable solutions, smart mobility and public-private collaboration.
