Ismael Clemente, CEO of MERLIN Properties, spoke with Suzana Curic, Country Leader for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Spain and Portugal, about how the arrival of artificial intelligence and the deployment of data centers are accelerating a structural change in the country, during the Global Trends 2025 Conference, organized by AmChamSpain.

They highlighted that, thanks to available industrial land, the convergence of submarine cables and international connectivity, excess energy and renewable energy at competitive prices, and an ecosystem primed for high growth, Spain offers differential and competitive advantages to drive this change. He also affirmed that data centers are key, not only as infrastructure, but also as significant generators of GDP.
