The MERLIN Forest, a pioneering project in ecological restoration alongside Carbon2Nature.
The MERLIN Forest is born, a pioneering ecological restoration project alongside Carbon2Nature, a company of the Iberdrola group, covering more than 200 hectares in Serradilla del Llano, Salamanca, an area severely affected by the largest fire recorded in the province this century.
With more than 300,000 native trees, this forest will capture over 160,000 tons of CO₂ in the next 50 years, certified according to the absorption project standard of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
In addition to restoring the ecosystem, the project promotes biodiversity, improves soil quality, and generates rural employment, contributing to the development of the local community.
The MERLIN Forest is part of our «Path to Net Zero» plan, with which we aim to achieve emissions neutrality by 2030, demonstrating that the real estate sector can lead the transition towards a more sustainable and responsible model.
