We joined elEconomista’s «Future of Data Centres» event
Spain is well positioned to become one of Europe’s leading data centre hubs thanks to a combination of strategic, energy and technological advantages, as well as its ability to attract investment.
🔹 Its geographical location is key to international connectivity through submarine cables, an essential infrastructure for global data traffic and digital connectivity.
🔹 Its high availability of renewable energy and the energy potential of large areas of the country are factors that the sector considers decisive in attracting new investment.
These were the key topics discussed during the event “The Future of Data Centres”, organised by elEconomista in Madrid, which featured Ismael Clemente, CEO of MERLIN Properties, alongside Pablo Alvarez, CEO of Netmetrix Spain; JosĂ© GarcĂa-Muro Guadamillas, Head of the Data Center HUB Iberia at Siemens; David Blázquez, Director of Public Policy for Spain and Portugal at Amazon Web Services (AWS); and Francisco Vallejo Torres, Director of Product and Business Solutions at Vodafone Spain. The session was moderated by Antonio Lorenzo, Director of elEconomista Digital 4.0.
